China’s growing influence in North America is raising alarm in the US and impacting regional ties. As Chinese companies establish a growing industrial footprint, some critics in Washington see these efforts as attempts to use America’s neighbors as an entry point to access U.S. markets while avoiding tariffs imposed by Washington on Beijing. Others see much needed investment and job creation in the region. This session will confront the China Factor in North America from different perspectives and explore the multifaceted nature of China’s involvement in the region.
