At a moment when the analysis needed to inform North American policy decisions is more urgent than ever, the institutions leading that vital work are facing a paradigm shift. The region is entering a new chapter marked by an unpredictable USMCA review even as a contraction of traditional funding sources forces research centers to rethink operations and compete for audiences.
 
Can the challenges of the current scenario open new avenues to collaborate across initiatives, institutions, and borders? North America has no shortage of institutions analyzing and sharing policy recommendations about the region, and now is the time to work across the three countries, building projects where data is shared and capacities are pooled for richer analysis, insights, and reports.
 
This roundtable convenes leaders from think tanks, universities, research centers, and the institutions that fund them to move from shared diagnosis to joint projects. Participants will examine working models of cross-border collaboration, to identify where opportunities may exist to surface specific work worth pursuing together. At its core, this session seeks to foster a genuinely trilateral research community.
